Hannabiell Sanders is a bass trombonist, an African hand percussionist and a composer. An African American Jamaican, originally from New Jersey, USA, she is currently living in Newcastle and pursuing her PhD in Music Performance at Newcastle University. She was named Best Performing Artist at The Journal Culture Awards 2012.

Protest Culture, Ladies of Midnight Blue Last year I flew two amazing poets, Climbing Poetree, from Brooklyn, NY, to Newcastle to record the lyrics they composed for the title track of my album, Protest Culture.
