A Corridor Advocacy Group has formed and is seeking Florida A1A between the Shave Bridge in Fernandina Beach and the southern boundary of Jacksonville Beach as a Florida Scenic Highway. A public meeting targeting businesses on the "A1A Ocean Islands Trail" will be 3 p.m. April 21 in the Ibis Room of Racquet Park Omni Amelia Island Plantation, 39 Beach Lagoon Road, Amelia Island. Teresa Scott recently became the new president of the Penney Retirement Community. She succeeded Robert Rigel, who retired after 12 years. Scott has a master's degree in social case work and previously was admissions director at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville.
