Unsung Heroes Choose Tea with Roses

TOOWOOMBA nurse Naomi Watts might not consider herself a hero, but her team's fundraising efforts are nothing short of heroic.

Ms Watts is the team leader for No Heroes, a fundraising team for Cancer Council made up of people with a mutual passion for helping others.

"Our team name comes from our motto: we are no heroes, just ordinary people trying to make a difference," she said.

The team recently organised the Tea Amongst the Roses event, held in the Newtown Park Rose Cottage, as part of Australia's Biggest Morning Tea.

Guests were treated to stalls, raffles, rides and a delicious morning tea.

There was also a a[approximately]links of love chain, where people were invited to write the name of someone they knew who had been affected by the disease.

Ms Watts said the organising committee was enthusiastic about helping Cancer Council Queensland launch Australia's Biggest Morning Tea in the south west Queensland region. …
