THEY may be at opposite ends of the premiership but today's Barselaar Shield match between Coffs City United and Woolgoolga Wolves at High St will be a ripper.

The shield is awarded annually in memory of the late Tony Barselaar, a legend of local football who served both clubs with distinction.

Tony was a long-time volunteer with the Lions before moving the family to Woolgoolga.

His grown-up children still live in the area and continue to be involved in the game through coaching junior teams and playing the occasional match in the over-35s. …
