SUDDEN Wonder can step up on his recent Newmarket success and mark himself as an Epsom contender with victory in the Derby Trial Stakes at Lingfield.

This son of New Approach won one of his three juvenile starts, finishing behind fellow Godolphin runners, including subsequent Breeders' Cup winner Outstrip, on the other two occasions.

His eight-length victory in a mile maiden was pretty impressive and the further they went, the better Sudden Wonder looked.

Stepped up to 10 furlongs on his return, Sudden Wonder landed an excellent pot for trainer Charlie Appleby in the Tattersalls Millions Trophy, although he was made to work hard for a he1ad verdict over Observational.

He found plenty in the finish and while he would need to improve a lot more to take a hand in the Investec Derby itself, the extra furlong or so in this Listed heat is a plus and he could just be a fine second-string to True Story as a leading Classic hope for Godolphin. Bred and owned by Her Majesty, Queen's Prize impressed when winning a seven-furlong maiden at Kempton in September, finishing with real purpose and going away from her rivals again at the end of the race.

She is bred to be a proper middledistance horse and is just the type Sir Michael Stoute excels with.

Alain de Royer-Dupre sent Sabana Perdida to win the Follow Scoop6 At Chartwell Fillies' Stakes at couple of years back and can repeat the trick with Dalayna.

She has a bit to find on the book in this Group Three contest but her astute handler would not be sending her to Britain if he did not feel she had a live chance.

Bronze Angel has taken a bit of a dive down the ratings and is worth another chance in the PS7.5 Million Totescoop6 Victoria Cup at Ascot.

Winner of the Cambridgeshire off a mark of 95 back in 2012, Bronze Angel is now back at that rating after failing to shine in a truncated campaign in 2013. …
