GAS PRICES LEVELING OFF

Gas prices are beginning to stabilize after three weeks of steady increases. AAA reports that the average price for a gallon of regular gas increased over the past week from $3.64 to $3.67 nationally, from $3.72 to $3.76 in Florida and from $3.58 to $3.65 in Georgia.

But all three averages remained unchanged over the weekend, and that's something that hasn't been happening as drivers faced daily increases.

Prices typically peak in the spring, according to AAA.

In Jacksonville, the average was $3.66 Monday, up from $3.60 a week ago, $3.50 a month ago and $3.45 a year ago.
