A MAN who drove a vehicle for more than four kilometres without the driver's side front tyre on New Year's Eve also refused to let police into his home and told officers to "go see Judge Risso" for a warrant.

Police received two 000 calls after sparks were seen flying from a vehicle being driven along Slade Point Rd.

Police followed a trail of tyre marks, rubber residue and gouges in the bitumen to an address on Kookaburra St where they saw, at 3.23am on January 1 this year, a white four-wheel drive with extensive damage to the front driver's side, prosecutor Sheena Hayes said.

The driver, identified as Jason James Mordey, refused to let officers into his home, saying they needed a warrant.

When police entered they saw Mordey drinking from a two-litre bottle of milk. When an officer attempted to take the bottle from him, he pulled away and continued to drink more milk.

Mordey, 37, wouldn't allow officers to breath test him unless it was done in front of his CCTV cameras. …
