Riga Will Learn His Fate within Days

JOSE RIGA'S future at Charlton will be decided this week, just two months after he joined the Championship club.

The 56-year-old will hold talks with owner Roland Duchatelet in Belgium and those meetings will determine whether he continues as manager. Riga's future is uncertain because his contract expires this summer and Duchatelet is considering other candidates.

An announcement on any decision is likely to be delayed until next week.

Riga has hinted he wants to stay but he admitted earlier this month he does not know whether he will remain in charge next season. Duchatelet will decide whether to keep faith with the manager who guided Charlton to Championship safety after taking over in March with the club bottom of the table.

When asked about his future earlier this month, Riga said: "I know the football world. Today you are here and tomorrow you are somewhere else. I have normally stayed at my pervious clubs for more than one year. …
