T has been a busy month for FCA as we joined in with the Fostering Network's annual two-week campaign Foster Care Fortnight, which started on May 12 and runs until May 25. The campaign aims to spread awareness of fostering and boy, did we rise to the challenge at FCA with our very own car rally travelling across the length and breadth of the UK.

Ten Fiat 500s stopped off in 10 locations in 10 days to help us promote the need for foster carers starting in Glasgow and ending this weekend in Birmingham.

We enjoyed a fantastic day in Centre Square in Middlesbrough on May 13 with the cars and talking to people about fostering and advising them of the steps to becoming a foster carer.

Thank you so much to everyone who came down to say hello to our team of staff and carers and I hope we inspired you to think about a career in fostering.

The theme of this year's Foster Care Fortnight saw members of the public being asked to 'guess who fosters?' with the aim of dispelling myths that there is such a thing as a 'typical' foster carer, when, in fact, foster carers come from a wide variety of backgrounds and circumstances. …
