FRESH air, community spirit and a good workout are only some of the reasons why Louise Williams and her kids participated in the Frenchville Sports Club Rocky River Run yesterday.

Louise with her two children Flynn and Ella went along with their friends Piper and Sofie Williams.

"I do a fair bit of training but I haven't done much running for a while," Louise said.

"I did the 10km run. It was a bit daunting at first. But it's the great social atmosphere that's really nice about Rocky River Run."

Running and walking the 2km and 5km events, Flynn said he liked the fact he got a ribbon at the end.

"It's great to get the kids involved and that they want to do it," Louise said.

Run by the Rotary Club of Rockhampton, chairman of the committee Neil Richardson said the event has come along way after starting with just 300 people to reaching almost 3000 yesterday. …
