Smokin' Hot Firies Sizzling; Bright Sparks Put on a Red Hot Show

THE Miriam Vale Rural Fire Brigade Group was on hand on Saturday to show off its selection of brigade appliances and educate the community about looking after their properties.

But more importantly, it was also the first time the group has been together since last year's flooding events around the area.

The Baffle Creek Rural Fire Service Day was held at the sporting grounds, with about 11 vehicles and their respective brigades attending from Wartburg, Agnes Water, Captain Creek, Turkey Beach, Rosedale and Rockhampton.

They were joined by Mt Larcom, Baffle Creek and Rosedale SES groups and plenty of market stalls.

Wartburg Rural Fire Brigade third officer and volunteer community educator Judy Ferrari said it was a big day for the brigades.

"We're like a brotherhood, the brigades around here," she said.

"After our weather event last year it was hard for the emergency service workers and this is the first time since that event that all of us have got together. …
