RUGBY LEAGUE: Killarney Cutters captain-coach John Trindall is upbeat about the chances of back-to-back premierships after his side beat Tenterfield 30-24 in Border Rugby League

fixtures.

The same two sides met in the minor semi-final last year when Jeremy Jerome landed the winning field goal in golden point extra time.

Jerome played the same position as last year, five-eighth, in a match Trindall described as harder than the semi.

"They knew we were coming to beat them and we knew it was going to be a tough, hard game," he said.

Trindall said that Tigers'

five-eighth Brendan Minns and lock Jim Loneragan worried his side.

"Brendan controlled the play for the Tigers," Trindall said.

"Tenterfield has lost heaps of players from last year, but are still just as strong.

"There was a good crowd from Tenterfield at the game and some Cutters fans made the trip down," he said.

Killarney had 20 players at the game at Tenterfield after having the same number at training on Friday night. …
