FISH FRY FOR SENIORS

Baker County elected officials will be having their annual fish fry for seniors event 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at the Dowling Memorial Training Building on U.S. 90 across from the Baker Correctional Institution.

FIRE/RESCUE SERVICE TO BE DISCUSSED

The County Commission meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the James S. Page Governmental Complex at 96135 Nassau Place in Yulee. Among the items on the agenda are: reviewing an agreement between the county and Fernandina Beach to coordinate fire/rescue calls for service and approving a $21,850 repair project for the Peters Point Beach Park restroom/shower building.

FILL THE BOOT FOR MDA

The fire department and Muscular Dystrophy Association will have their 60th annual Fill the Boot fundraising campaign this weekend to benefit children and adults affected by muscle disease. Dozens will fan out across the city with boots in hand for this year's drive 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Sunday.

DIVAS' DAY OUT DRAWS CROWD

The third annual Divas' Day Out saw almost 300 people take part in this month's event at the Atlantic Recreation Center, raising about $3,000 for Girl Power 2 Cure to fight Rett Syndrome. Thirty vendor booths included demonstrations on stage, a dress-up booth for girls, beauty treatments, fashion shows and an aerial fitness demonstration. …
