XANTHE Coward's world does not stop spinning on a Sunday, but if she's lucky it does slow down.

The busy school teacher, mother and local theatre identity dreams of having time to laze on the beach and read a book on a Sunday, but the diary is rarely clear enough.

"The usual routine is not to plan much, however, that doesn't ever seem to happen," she said. "I'll quite often end up in Brisbane at a show or at a rehearsal or a special event, but I do try and keep it as a family day."

When Sunday can be a family day, Xanthe and husband Sam like to stay around the house with their daughter, Poppy, 8.

"Because we're so busy, staying home is a luxury," Xanthe said.

"If we haven't sat down together during the week and had a cup of tea, that's when we do it. If we haven't had a meal together, that's when we do it.
