Article excerpt

They say what goes around comes around, and that's certainly true when it comes to interior style. e mid-century modern trend is one that's not only endured, it's become super-hot property for 21st Century living.

Popular for its simple, clean lines, it originates in the post-war era when design was driven by a desire to propel style and function into the modern day era and encourage a real change from what had gone before. is is an uncomplicated, fresh aesthetic, and the look is easy to achieve with just a few key pieces.

One of the most iconic brands creating beautiful and functional furniture that's spot on for this look is ercol, and in particular the ercol originals range. Some pieces have never gone out of production since rst created more than 60 years ago, while others have been brought back into production due to the surge in demand in recent years.

For the dining room, I think the Deakin table with six white pop chairs is a great centrepiece for achieving this look. It works really well when oset by a bold geometric rug and bright accessories. I'm a big fan of the sunshine yellow that the BB1 Pendant light comes in - it really brightens up a room and adds a fun splash of colour. Mirror the tone in accessories such as vases, plates or cushions to pull together the look. e Sunower Wall clock is spot on and would provide a fun focal point for the room.

Every dining table needs a place to show o some interesting vases and store dining ware, and the classic design of the Charlbury sideboard is an ideal piece for achieving midcentury styling, with its hints of both retro and Scandinavian design. …
