What is Sunrise Way?

Will open in Heritage listed a[approximately]Unara' building at the top of Toowoomba Range.

The facility will eventually have 26 places to rehabilitate people with drug and alcohol addiction.

More than $2 million has been donated towards the facility so far.

TWELVE years is a long time to keep a dream burning.

But the drive of the Sunrise Way board has paid off, with an 11th-hour private donation set to make the drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre operational within four to eight weeks.

The anonymous donation will keep the centre running for three years, but new chairman Shane Charles said the family did not want the figure disclosed.

Mr Charles, who heads up lobby group Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise, said he had been approached by the family and asked to consider heading up the board once they made the donation.

"It's come right out of left field for me," Mr Charles said. …
