Car and motoring enthusiasts looking for a weekend fix may be keen to know the Queensland Auto Museum is back in full swing after interruptions from the 2011 floods.

The museum is near Hampton and anyone wanting to visit can turn into Hampton Rd at the Hampton store and keep an eye out for the signs before turning left into Erbacher Rd.

Set on 20 acres, the museum covers more than 3000sq m of floor space that houses a main display pavilion, working workshop and stationery engine display.

Queensland Auto Museum is a private collection of more than 120 historic vehicles from the 1920s to the 1990s.

Your hosts at the site are Roy and Kerry Gorring and they have been cranked up at Hampton since December.

The collection includes Peter Brock vehicles, a Jaguar belonging to former Queensland Premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen and the 1935 caravan known as Bumbling Bertha towed around the country by country music legend Slim Dusty.

The van is made from Masonite and Roy had it transported from Western Australia. …
