PNG NOW HUNTED; Cutters Big Three Look to Fire-Up for Historic Clash

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Absolute Enterprises Mackay Cutters are expecting a "brutal" onslaught when the high-flying PNG Hunters play at Stadium Mackay for the first time tonight.

The Hunters have surprised everyone by reaching second on the Intrust Super Cup ladder in their first season, a success based on a physical game mixed with good ball movement.

The defending premiers are struggling in third-last, but the club's front three - props Sam Hoare and Karl Davies and hooker Anthony Mitchell - look a good match for the all-representative PNG front row as the home side looks to revenge their round two loss to PNG for back-to-back wins.

Cowboys prop Hoare (111kg) and the Cutters' Davies (101kg) bring plenty of grunt to the side, while the NRL experience of hooker Anthony Mitchell (88kg) will be vital in outthinking the visitors.

While lighter by 15kg, the PNG front row of props Sebastian Pandia and Esau Siune and hooker Wartovo Pandia have all played representative football and are as tough as nails. …
