ATEENAGER has been arrested after an elderly lady was attacked and robbed as she made her way home from an evening out.

Anne Anstey was left with serious facial injuries after she was pushed to the ground and punched in face in Meadowfield, in County Durham.

The 75-year-old was left with cuts, bruises and swelling and needed stitches to her face.

Mrs Anstey was making her way home after an evening out in Durham when she entered Arundel Way, via a back field, when she was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground.

Her beige coloured cotton handbag containing a purse, a Samsung mobile phone and a small quantity of cash, was stolen during the robbery.

While she was on the ground, she was also punched in the face by her assailant. He then made off from the scene. The attacker was wearing wearing a sky blue, long-sleeved top and jeans and he spoke with a local accent. Durham Police have arrested an 18-yearold man from the Durham area on suspicion of robbery. …
