JACINDA Brown and Ian Branigan lived on opposite sides of Australia, but a trip to Papua New Guinea in 2009 changed their lives in a way they never thought possible.

"He is from Perth and I am from Brisbane and just happened to be on the same group walking the Kokoda Track," Jacinda said.

"I guess you could say that sparks flew over celebratory drinks at Port Moresby bar the Rattle 'n' Hum after we'd finished the track."

At the time, Ian was a fly-in, fly-out worker and would fly from Western Australia to Queensland to visit her.

Their first holiday was on the Sunshine Coast, so it was fitting they chose to get married here on April 5.

"We wanted our wedding to have a bit of an Australiana theme to reflect living in the Outback," Jacinda said.

"We chose the Annabella Wedding Chapel for its rural setting and my florist helped us incorporate the theme by using gum leaves and tetra nuts in mine and my bridesmaids' bouquets and in our table settings. …
