MUSICIANS from across the state are heading for Raleigh today to play a last chorus to a man who stood out in the crowd.

The former front-man for the comedy act the Zarsoff Bros and well known Bellinger identity, Izzy Foreal, died while jogging through the forest at Valery last Saturday.

Known to passing motorists as "the happy jogger" Izzy was born Peter Knox on April 18 1949.

He adopted the stage name Izzy Foreal while performing with the Zarsoff Bros in 1979.

Friends say the moniker seemed to match his off stage persona as much as his stage identity and it stuck.

Izzy grew up in the suburbs of western Sydney and developed a passion for music early. His first instrument was an acoustic-electric slide guitar that through a process of trial and error became amplified when plugged into an old radiogram.

Well known for being a sincere, compassionate and humble man with a drive to entertain, Izzy was a frequent visitor to the Federal Hotel and Urunga's Ocean View Hotel where he performed classics from the '60s and '70s in a way that only he could. …
