THE LOVE of a couple celebrating 60 years together was written in tea leaves.

Peter and Norma Jones say they are each other's "best company" and believe they were born to be together.

Norma, 77, said: "I visited my aunt Mary when I was 11.

"There was no teabags then, just leaves. When I'd finished my tea, my aunt did a reading of my leaves.

"She said I would have two children to a tall, dark haired lad with the initials PJ."

The diamond anniversary couple have never looked back since they met in 1953 at a friend's 18th birthday party.

Peter, 78, said: "I first saw Norma under a spotlight at the cinema. She was working there selling ice cream as I watched a film with friends. Straight away I thought she was a lovely girl."

Norma said: "People kept pestering me as he wanted to take me out. I didn't know him but I thought he was a drink-k er."

Having gone on a first date to the picture house, Norma was smitten. Peter is one of five brothers and Norma is from a family of eleven. …
