GYMNASTS have jumped at the chance to raise funds for new equipment.

Formerly Hemlington Gymnastics Club, now G Stainsby School of Gym G - nastics based in Stockton, the group was established in 1990 and has around 424 members between the ages of three and 19.

The community club gives members the opportunity to compete regionally and nationally. The club is determined to up their performance with the help of some new equipment and has signed up to the Gazette's Wish Sport campaign.

Head coach Charlotte Wilkinson said: "This year we hope to use the money to help fund a new fast track. It is a teaching aid which will mean there is less chance of injury."

Last year, the club put their Wish Sport money towards this same teaching aid and fundraising is continuing.

The Gazette has teamed up with Middlesbrough and Teesside Philan T -thropic Foundation, which is providing PS30,000 to share between not-for-profit sports groups across Teesside. …
