New Retro Eatery Aims to Cater to Everyone

BLUE Kitchen Gourmet Foods in South Lismore has expanded and opened up a cafe in their Wilson St store.

The funky, retro eatery, which opened last week, is set inside Blue Kitchen's retro store next to Norco's offices in the Windmill Grove Complex.

New owner Francine Austen said it was very exciting having expanded the Blue Kitchen store to now hold a place for locals, visitors, and those who worked nearby to come and enjoy a coffee or lunch.

Blue Kitchen is serving a lot of its own products from its Blue Kitchen condiments line, which has been around for 12 years - you'll find their delicious conserve served up with a freshly made muffin, for example.

All the cafe's food and their Blue Kitchen products are made on site with as many local ingredients as possible, Ms Austen said, something that was very important to the team at Blue Kitchen.

"We definitely want to be sustainable (and want to) sustain the local industry," she said. …
