HOCKEY: Nine Warwick players will travel to Townsville tomorrow to take on the state's best young players in the Queensland Under-15 Hockey Championships.

Attending will be Josh Jensen, Declan Coy, Jack Coy, Lachlan Moore, Matthew Eastwell, Jacob Reid, Bailey Rutledge, and Simon and Jacob Rolfe, while players from Ipswich, Toowoomba and Brisbane will make up the rest of the Warwick side.

Coach Phil Rolfe said many of the players had already played at the level before.

"A few of these guys have been going for five or six years now," Rolfe said.

"We've had a good lead up by winning the Coulter Shield in Ipswich.

"We also went to a carnival at Redlands where we won both games convincingly."

Rolfe said the familiarity of the carnival and each other would be a big advantage for his side.

"The players are really working well together," he said.

"There are five who play here each week in Warwick in A-grade so they've got a really good combination going now. …
