Mother-to-Be Dies 'After Being Run Down by Partner'

A YOUNG pregnant woman has died after allegedly being knocked down by a car driven by her partner, three weeks before she was due to give birth to their first child.

Jessica Fenner, 22, died in hospital yesterday hours after she was struck outside Daniel Dutfield's family home in Morden at 8pm on Saturday.

Dutfield, 24, was today due to appear in court charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Miss Fenner, who worked at hardware chain Wilkinsons, and Mr Dutfield, an engineer from Tooting, were expecting a girl on July 30.

They had been together for more than six years and moved into a flat in Wallington last weekend in preparation for the birth.

Two weeks ago, Miss Fenner wrote on Facebook: "So happy with my new flat can't wait to start moving stuff in feeling excited."

They had both posted hospital scans, photographs of baby clothes and messages about their future together. In May, Miss Fenner posted on her Facebook page: "Had a lovely evening with Dan Dutfield not long till us 2 become 3 can't wait to meet our beautiful baby girl xx. …
