VICTORIAN golfer Andrew Kelly achieved an almost perfect round to win the $12,000 Pioneer Valley Pro-Am yesterday.

Kelly shot an eight under 64 to win by one shot from international golfer Scott Hend and Mitchell Brown, of NSW.

"It was a good day. I birdied the first three holes, the last three, two of the par 5s and had no bogies," he said.

"I did miss a few putts but I had a few nice putts go in as well."

Based in Melbourne, Kelly, 27, is on his third visit to the Pioneer Valley pro-am and the City of Mackay Open, which hits off today.

"Last year I won the pro-am at Yeppoon and I had good finishes at Rockhampton and Mackay," he said.

"I think I finished fifth or sixth at Mackay.

"At Mackay I'm not thinking about results, I just want to keep doing what I've been doing and hope that is going to carry the day for me. …
