Cyclones Blow Past Opponents in Victory

CHANDREA Jones isn't afraid of showing a bit of aggression on the court.

The Frenchville Sports Club Cyclones star import turned up the heat at Hegvold Stadium yesterday afternoon to help her side clinch an 88-85 win over Townsville Flames.

But Jones said the victory didn't come easy.

"It felt great (to win), but we had a hard time in the beginning and throughout the game," Jones said.

"Townsville are definitely a great team and they showed it today but we stuck together and we came out with the win.

"It's always aggressive and intense and it's mind blowing. It was very hard, both teams were trying to get a win, (it was) a close game, there were a lot of emotions going on and it's hard but we pulled through."

Jones combined with fellow US import Iasia Hemingway and Rockhampton local Chloe Morrow to lead on the scoreboard with 73 points scored between the three.

While pleased with her performance, Jones said it was Cyclones youngster Brianna Bailey who really stole the show. …
