EVENT TO HELP WOMAN WITH EXPENSES

A benefit to raise money for Jacksonville resident Wendy Somerset, whose nose collapsed after a series of accidents and an attack, will take place from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday, July 6, at Rain Dogs, 1045 Park St.

The donations will go toward Somerset's medical bills and cost of living during nose reconstruction.

Rain Dogs will celebrate its first anniversary that night with bands and a silent auction.

RIDE FOR JUSTICE IS SATURDAY

The ninth annual Celebrate America Ride for Justice to benefit Jacksonville's Justice Coalition kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Adamec Harley-Davidson at 8909 Baymeadows Road.

Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. for the event, which will take a scenic 50-mile ride across Jacksonville's bridges and roads with Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford in the lead.

Registration is $20 per biker and $10 per passenger, or $50 for a VIP pass. Separate lunch tickets are available for $10 for non-riders. …
