WHITSUNDAY tourism operator Tony Brown has travelled to Sydney with an ABC Four Corners television crew in tow.

Today, he will meet with representatives from the Westpac Bank to put forward a tourism operator's perspective on the dumping at sea of dredge spoil from the port of Abbot Point.

When Mr Brown has finished talking to Westpac, he will fly to Melbourne where he has meetings scheduled with the NAB and ANZ tomorrow.

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia has agreed to see him in September.

Mr Brown's pitch to Australia's big four banks is the same as the one that he made to the European financial powerhouses of Societe Generale and the Deutsche Bank back in May.

He wants Australia's big banks to also think about the social and environmental consequences of investing in a coal terminal on the Great Barrier Reef and particularly one that intends to dump its dredge material at sea. …
