Man Faces Trial over Robberies

A MAN accused of committing a spate of armed robberies across the Bundaberg region earlier this year has been committed to stand trial.

Daniel Mathew Fallon, 31, appeared via video link in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court yesterday, where police prosecutor Sergeant Barry Stevens handed up numerous pieces of evidence.

Among the evidence submitted to the court was a disc showing images of primary and secondary crime scenes and another disc of an audio recording of a phone conversation.

A number of statements, including the defendant's, were also handed up.

A witness sketch of the defendant and CCTV footage from Urban Cellars, Eagle Boys Bargara and Into Love adult shop was also submitted as evidence.

Fallon has been accused of two counts of armed robbery and one count of attempted armed robbery in relation to three incidents on February 8 this year.

Magistrate Deb Vasta yesterday told Fallon he had now been formally charged for his alleged role in the hold-up of the Eagle Boys with a knife, Into Love with a gun and an assault with the intent to steal. …
