I AM part of a team of three senior nurses whose role over the last few months has been to raise awareness of a national campaign known as the 6Cs to our staff.

The 6Cs, launched by chief nurse of England Jane Cummings, is a set of fundamental staff values.

They stand for care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.

These are values that not just our nurses should be showing at all times, but every single member of our staff.

Our number one priority always has been and always will be the patients in our care.

Over the last few months myself and senior nurses for professional standards Louise Samuel and Claire Wong have been working with staff across the trust.

We have been absolutely delighted with the enthusiasm and energy the staff have shown towards this campaign.

By next year our year-long placements will be over but it is vital we keep this campaign going in the long term.

To help achieve this, we are asking for staff to volunteer to be a care maker. …
