Terror of Woman Left with Broken Arm by Mugger in a Rasta Wig

POLICE are hunting a violent mugger who targeted a lone woman in an attack which left her with a broken arm.

CCTV footage shows the suspect putting on a Rastafarian-style wig with dreadlocks and a red, yellow and green beanie as he approached the victim in daylight in Walthamstow.

He then attacked her from behind, pulling her handbag violently from the shoulder strap and punching her in the hand as she attempted to hold on to it. As the bag came free of the 40-year-old victim's hand she fell backwards and broke her arm.

The suspect ran away still wearing the wig. The attack took place at 1.25pm on July 4 as the woman approached a house in Northumberland Road.

Officers from Waltham Forest CID are keen to identify the man, described as black, aged between 30 and 40 with a bald head and goatee beard. He is slim to medium build and was wearing a white T-shirt with a coloured picture design on the front (possibly a head) and a red pattern on the back, blue jeans, blue Nike trainers with white soles and lime green laces. …
