EXCELLENT form at the state district sides' events has stood Adele Pershouse, Bargara, and Mick Tobin, ATW, in good stead.

This and continued top local form has had both selected in the ladies and mens Queensland over-60 sides respectively.

Pershouse will play lead with skip Jenny Blundell from Everton Park, and Tobin will play second for Ken Luck from Bribie Island. Queensland will be fancied to perform well on home greens against all the other states and territories.

These events will be played simultaneously at Tweed Heads from October 7 to 10.

The men's pairs held at Bargara over the weekend had prizemoney of $6000. Two sides were undefeated after five rounds, David Daws and Jim See, on 5 +48, and Daniel Stanton-Cook and Mick Tobin, on 5+ 44.

Graeme Hutchinson and Paul Bianchi rolled the favourites, Stanton-Cook and Tobin, while Daws and Jim See beat Kelvin Appo 13-12 to take the $2000 first prize, being the only side to win six from six. …
