Best-Ever Results for Sixth Form

Article excerpt

THE success on these three able, committed and personable students reflects the wider success of the entire Sixth Form at Whickham School where students celebrated their best-ever results.

Rob van Dijk has carried out his academic journey with a quiet and steady determination that has taken him from Whickham School, to the gates of University College in Oxford.

In the notoriously challenging field of Mathematics, Rob has excelled, securing a coveted A* star in Maths and an additional A in Further Maths. The percentage of students achieving A*/A grades has risen to 51%, an improvement that reverses a falling trend nationally and is one of the highest performances in the whole of the North East. Further to this, over 67% of students achieved A*,A or B grades whilst 100% of students passed all of their courses. Academic success in A-level performance is complemented by outstanding success in our BTEC subjects. Alex Hall has also demonstrated similar levels of excellence. …
