THE record $61,000 in prizemoney at tomorrow's Nolan Meats Muster Cup has drawn an excellent response from owners and trainers.

The six-race card attracted 85 nominations, including four from Rockhampton.

Interview, who has won the Gladstone and Bundaberg Cups at his two most recent starts, has been allotted top-weight of 60.5kg in the 1600m $20,000 Nolan Meats Muster Cup.

Gympie trainer, Kerry Munce entered three in the Cup, including Tallahatchie who was second last year.

Bary Gill, who trained last year's runaway winner, Harney, entered last season's SEQ Horse of the Year, Unique Fuse who would be on trial over the 1600m.

Gympie's richest race

DUE to the strong support of sponsors Nolan Meats, the 18th Muster Cup will be the richest race run in Gympie with the winner to receive $12,800 plus $350 in trophies. In another first, prizemoney will extend to fifth with $400.

The $8000 BM 75 over 1030m has drawn a strong field with Unique Fuse, Rockhampton visitor Liberty Tycoon, Craiglea Masta, The Blizzard and Golden Cash.

Plenty for spectators

THE giant screen will again be set up on the inside of the track to give patrons a close-up view of all the racing action while a[approximately]marquee alley' will be packed. Nolan's will be entertaining about 150 corporate guests during the afternoon while the popular Fashions of the Field will be a major focus.

Track back to normal

RACING Qld's Bill Schuck was in Gympie this week to inspect the newly reconstructed Gympie track. Following some beneficial rain, plus extensive watering and rolling of the surface, the track received his tick of approval. At last month's meeting, work on the track had only just been completed, resulting in slow race times as the track had not settled down. Tomorrow's track should be back to near-normal. …
