Former CQ Stars Take on A-League

FORMER Nerimbera Magpies juniors Braedyn and Jacob Crowley are about to tackle some of Australia's best footballers.

The former Central Queensland FC Energy pair might be midway through the 2014 NPL season, but will face a pair of Hyundai A-League heavyweights in the next few days.

One-time CQFC captain Jacob; and Braedyn, who left the Energy before its NPL licence was revoked in March, joined the Townsville-based Northern Fury.

On Sunday, the pair, along with former CQFC Energy striker Kevin Fraser will pull on the Fury club colours as the inaugural Townsville Football Cup launches in the northern centre.

The Fury will tackle a near full-strength Sydney FC on Sunday before meeting Hyundai A-League champions Brisbane Roar on Wednesday night.

"It's going to be unreal just being able to play against this calibre of players," Braedyn said.
