LITTLE ST. MARY DUCK POND RESTORATION

Volunteers headed by members of the Baker County Veterans Council have completed their initial work on the Little St. Mary duck pond on U.S. 90 between Macclenny and Glen St. Mary, Council President Milt O'Neill said. The popular park had been closed to the public after vandals tore up the old docks and other structures. The county paid for the material and the veterans council took care of the rest. The veterans group will add some picnic tables in the coming days.

SAFETY COMMITTEE MEETS TUESDAY

The Fernandina Beach Safety Committee meets at 1 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 204 Ash St. Agenda items include a review of accident/incident reports, watertight box purchases and discussion of a health awareness event at the city golf course. The meeting is open to the public.

Community Development Block Grant Citizen Advisory Task Force meets at 2 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 204 Ash St. The agenda includes discussion of new business and approval of new CDBG applicants.
