BUNDABERG Regional Council is calling upon the community to take part in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest paper doll chain.

As part of this year's Social Inclusion Week, council was teaming up with the Social Inclusion Week Working Group to break the record.

"The current record for a paper doll chain stands at 6.59km, our goal is to well and truly exceed the current record by creating a chain 8-10km long," said Community Services portfolio spokeswoman Cr Judy Peters.

"What better way to promote social inclusion then to get our entire community to collaborate on one project.

"It doesn't matter whether you're young or old, your cultural background or your level of ability, everyone can get involved."

Cr Peters said the paper doll colouring-in template would be distributed throughout the community, including schools, events and community groups.

"We are getting the paper dolls to as many people as possible and it is also available to download from council's website," she said. …
