WE ASKED readers if they would stop to help someone in distress on the side of the road.

Here are some of the responses that were posted on our Facebook page.

Kate Stephenson: I would stop to help at an accident no matter what and possibly someone broken down but that one would depend on many other factors.

Bianca Lee: I get concerned being a mum and driving on my own with my son at night. I'm more inclined to stop during the day and help someone as it's a little bit safer.

Rhys Jackson: Accidents are a given, always help out if you can. Because I'd want the same to happen to me if I were in an accident, touch wood.

Troy Strack: Because it's the right thing to do, its what I would like done for me and we like to help others. That's all.

Chantal Booth: Even if it's a man in day light I will still stop, but stay in my car with the window 1/2 down and ask if he needs me to call someone. …
