A TOP burlesque dancer so badly bullied as a teen she was threatened with a knife has been inundated with messages of support from around the world.

Former Teesside student Frankii Wilde, 27, who started her burlesque career in Stockton, was tormented by her peers s throughout her time at school for being "fat".

Last week her story caused a media storm, being picked up by news outlets across the globe.

Frankii, who lived in Linthorpe whilst she attended the Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD) as a photography pupil both in Acklam and Hartlepool, said: "The amount of messages I've received has been phenomenal.

"People who have been in a similar position have contacted me, as have parents of children being bullied saying 'I'm going to show my son or daughter this.'.

"At first I was a little bit 'oh no' when the story broke - but it's all been really positive."

Frankii, who lives with boyfriend Tom Lewis, 26, a sous chef from Acklam, told how her time at school at both Deaf Hill Primary School and Sedgefield Community College was marred by the bullies. Frankii, born Charlotte Million, said: "I was horrifically bullied.

"Our family never really had much money and I'd never wear the latest clothes.

"I was a bit of a tomboy and didn't really care about my appearance, so I was bullied for that.

"It really got bad at senior school. "Because I was bullied I became known as a kid who was bullied. It was just like this weird cycle.

"Life only got good when I left school."

Amongst Frankii's lowest points were getting food thrown at her in the canteen, being sent fake Valentine's Day cards and, when she was 15, being threatened with a knife on the school run.

However after dabbling in modelling whilst at CCAD she quickly become a sought after model and performer.

She has performed all over the country, has modelled for a range of clothing brands and now runs her own photography business called Frankii & Gerry's Retro Studio. …
