Farah Feeling the Pressure Ahead of Run

BRENDAN Foster feels that Mo Farah is under pressure as he returns to the Great North Run for a second crack at etching his name into the famous list of winners.

Farah finished second in the race last year to Wilson Kipsang after what Foster believes was a bad misjudgement from the Olympic and World champion, who overcame injury problems to complete a 5,000metre and 10,000metre double at the European Championships last month.

His fantastic form on the track has not been matched by his efforts on the road, which have seen Farah come up short in the Great North Run, the New York half-marathon and also the London Marathon, when he struggled in a strong field.

Now Foster is desperate to see the iconic runner triumph in South Shields.

He said: "He always ran in the City Games and I remember in 2008, when he hadn't run well in the Olympics, he stood on the Quayside. …
