Brutal Home Invaders Now Live Behind Bars

A WARWICK teenager has been jailed for eight years for his role in a brutal home invasion in which he viciously kicked a woman and left her for dead in her burning home.

Hunter Gabriel Murray-Costelloe was just 17 years old when he and four other men stormed the Dunwich Post Office and demanded cash from owner and resident Hetty Conlon.

The balaclava-clad group had started a fire at a nearby school shortly before the robbery to ensure Mrs Conlon's auxiliary firefighter husband was out of the residence.

A frightened Mrs Conlon was forced to hand over $23,000 in cash and valuables from her safe.

Tiege Lanczy Kalen Burns, 26, then doused the home in petrol and set it alight.

The Brisbane District Court last week heard that as the men exited the home, Murray-Costelloe returned and kicked Mrs Conlon in the face so severely it almost rendered her unconscious.

Fortunately she was able to escape the burning building but was left with severe facial injuries. …
