North Buderim to Get Supa New Look

SMALL business owners hope a Supa IGA will breathe new life into the North Buderim Market shopping centre.

The supermarket in the Pittards Rd complex is expected to open by March next year, complete with 40 additional car parks and 1000sq m of retail space.

The development is expected to benefit about a dozen small businesses in the complex.

Centre owner Dale Massie said with a growing North Buderim and Kuluin population, there was a rising demand for another supermarket.

"Everything going on now has come about as a result of meeting the needs of the community, and to satisfy the ever-increasing demand," he said.

"The community has grown and the centre needs to grow with it."

Construction started on site last week where the former North Buderim Fruit and Veg and Mitre 10 stores once stood.

IGA owner Ben Crous, who currently operates in the centre, will open the Supa IGA in the larger premises.
