DEATH - how does one deal with it?

I lost my father to lung cancer when I was 23. I was not a child then, so I dealt with it pretty well.

I'm a realist and an atheist. I know I can't do anything to bring the dead back to life, I know I won't be meeting him in the future, so with the support of great friends and family who kept me happy all the time, I moved on, but kept him close to my heart.

I didn't get to know Buddy Lea that well, but I've interviewed him a few times. Every time I had conversations with him, I would burst out laughing because he had a special way to connect with people and in many ways he reminded me of my father. Funny, intelligent and loyal, down to earth and they both succumbed to lung cancer.

I will miss both - their jokes, their wit and courageous stories during war time. …
