'Overdue' Table Returned to Glynn; Brunswick Library Regains Carnegie Antique That Went to Jesup When Systems Split

BRUNSWICK | When Brunswick-Glynn County library trustees meet Wednesday, their elbows will rest on something familiar.

A Jacksonville-based moving company hauled an antique conference table back from Jesup where Linda Kean, the now-departed director of Three Rivers Regional Library, had it moved in July 2013.

"This will be their first meeting around this table instead of the white picnic table and the folding chairs,'' said Geri Mullis, director of the one-county Marshes of Glynn Regional Library.

Glynn County split from Three Rivers in July 2013, formed its own region and evicted Kean and her staff from what had been Three Rivers' headquarters at the county's downtown library.

The return of the table - along with $550,000 in library funds - came as the result of a settlement of suits Marshes of Glynn and Three Rivers had filed against each other.

Transferring the money was easy. Moving the table was hard.
