Blackfinn American Grille is transitioning to Blackfinn Ameripub as part of its four-year anniversary milestone at St. Johns Town Center.

The interior design is being streamlined, and an updated menu will be rolled out as well as a new 50-tap draft system stocked with local and regional favorites.

Finn Fries, Jumbo Lump "Crowned" Crab Cakes, Cashew Chicken Salad, Jambalaya Pasta, Pan Roasted Chicken and Steak "Your Way" are among the new menu items, and the new lunch menu features 20 items under $10. We tasted the aptly named Chocolate Brownie Avalanche and gave it three spoons up.


- Red Bull may give you wings, but Bono's smokes 'em and slathers 'em with barbecue sauce. The wings, which debuted this week, are the restaurant's newest menu item. Bono's Smoked BBQ Wings are officially on our culinary bucket list! You'll soon be able to score some for yourself, at a new North Jacksonville location at 731 Duval Station Road in Duval Station Centre. Plans for the build-out were approved by the city last month.

- Sweet Pete's is on a roll! Its new mobile sweet wagon is licensed and ready to hit the streets.

- Take a bow-wow - Miami-based House of Dog is open for business in Mandarin at 10950-36 San Jose Blvd. Kosher dogs and deli classics are accompanied by craft beers and soft drinks.

- Dunkin' Donuts is taking another run at opening in Ponte Vedra Beach, in the Winn-Dixie shopping center at Solana Road. There were delays in January and construction was halted, but work has now resumed and plans are shaping up.


Taberna del Caballo and the Bull & Crown Pub at the Colonial Quarter on St. Augustine's St. George Street are the latest restaurant projects for chef Michael Lugo of Michael's Tasting Room.

The Spanish-themed Taberna and the British-style pub are part of the two-acre Colonial Quarter outdoor History Museum in a public/private partnership with University of Florida and entrepreneur Pat Croce. …
