Couple Bashed at Home; Kids Flee for Help as Intruder Stabs Mum, Beats Man

STUART Willcock said he wouldn't like to say what he would do if he got his hands on the person who bashed his son with a baseball bat early on Sunday morning.

His son Kyle Beaumont was recovering from a badly fractured skull, a broken hand and other injuries in Royal Brisbane Hospital yesterday.

Mr Willcock said his son's female friend, who Kyle was staying the night with, was in a worse condition.

She was fighting for her life after being attacked with a baseball bat and stabbed multiple times.

Mr Willcock said his son woke to the sound of someone breaking in the back door of the Straun Cres home about 4am.

He jumped up to try and intervene but at just 70kg he was no match for an intruder with a baseball bat.

"He was levelled with the bat," Mr Willcock said.

The proud father said his son got back on his feet three times to try to stop the intruder but each time he tried to get up he got knocked back down with the bat. …
