WHAT makes a school outstanding? This was the question posed by head boy Will Sensicle at Newcastle School for Boys' annual prize day recently.

The occasion at South Northumberland Cricket Club celebrated the success and efforts of boys across the junior and senior schools.

"I looked back over my memories of the school and realised how amazing they are. I know that this is a great school and know how fortunate I am to have attended NSB."

Sensicle, 18, said as he prepared to move on to university in Leeds to study music Since the school was formed in 2005, Newcastle School for Boys has undergone significant growth developing a successful academic track record while also focusing on strong pastoral care and a full and varied co-curricular programme that looks to enhance each boy's personal development.

This year's award ceremony echoed the school's ethos perfectly with boys of all ages receiving awards acknowledging and rewarding individuals for their creativity, effort and academic marks. …
