Overview: The big names are numerous. QB Robert Griffin III, WR DeSean Jackson and WR Pierre Garcon lead the way, and RB Alfred Morris is one of the NFL's best. But the Redskins had only one touchdown and two plays of more than 20 yards last week. ... Griffin lined up in the shotgun (traditional or pistol) on all but 12 plays. ... It will be interesting to see what the Jaguars do with their safeties; last week, Houston had SS D.J. Swearinger close to the line to account for Griffin. ... Morris gained 91 yards on 14 carries and is able to run inside and outside. His backup, Roy Helu, had four carries for 46 yards. ... Garcon and Jackson combined for 18 catches against the Texans, but their averages were 7.7 and 7.8 yards, respectively. Jackson did a lot of his early work on passes around the line of scrimmage. He even lined up at running back on one play to catch a pass in the left flat. Jackson's longest gain (17 yards) came on a 4-yard pass from Griffin, made possible by the Texans giving him 9 yards of cushion. ... TE Jordan Reed, a former Gator, has become a dynamic player but was lost early with a hamstring injury and isn't expected to play. He'll be replaced by Niles Paul (who was a receiver when drafted) and Logan Paulsen (a former undrafted free agent). Paul will be used wide left or right. ... Like the Jaguars, the Redskins have a new center (Kory Lichtensteiger moved from left guard) and left guard (Shawn Lauvao was signed from Cleveland). LT Trent Williams is by far the Redskins' best blocker. ... The Redskins used six personnel groupings against Houston, led with 3 WR-1 RB-1 TE (43 times) and no other group more than seven times.

Play-caller: Defensive coordinator Jim Haslett. …
